Other than frying Crappie, anyone got any good recipes, I’m not supposed to eat fried food, just looking for another option. Thanks

I've been cooking filets in a air fryer. Cod mostly. Spray with a little olive oil, season and cook for about 10 minutes for a thick filet. Definitely not as good as fried but it'll eat.

take fillets season how you like, put on a cookie sheet, pat of butter on each fillet. Bake at 375 for 13 minutes if fillets are thin, about 15-16 if thicker.

Oven 450º
Put your fillets on a rack over a baking pan Sprinkle on the cajun seasoning in the post below (or use Everglades or Tony Chacheres Creole Seasoning or Chef Paul's Seafood (or Blackened Redfish) - both sides of the fish Spray very lightly with cooking oil (it is going to drip off into the baking pan anyway) Bake 20 minutes with the light on (check often) - when slightly browned they're done
Seasoning mix from below thread (use like salt - it is seasoned salt). Your post was timely, reminded me to mix batch of this up for a friend's chicken fry and I had forgot his request:
3 tablespoon salt 2 teasp garlic powder 1 1/2 tablespoon paprika 1 tease black pepper 1 teasp onion powder 1 1/4 teasp. oregano 1 1/4 teasp dried thyme 1 teasp. basil 1 tablespoon chili powder

Man, on the grill they are awesome! lemon pepper and lemon juice. Build a tin foil pan. Top layer the non stick type. Or use non stick spray. I put the side of the filets that had the scales on them down first. About 6 min. Flip them and cook till they flake. On about a 275 to 300 temp grill. I love it that way!

I wonder how it would be in a Creole sauce? I made shrimp creole for the first Time yesterday, turned out awesome, used the recipe on delish.com. I think you could substitute crappie fillets and it would be wonderful. Mo

I cook fish like this most of the time (or smoke it). I use a Blackstone griddle on the back patio. Works perfectly and doesn't heat up the house in the summer.
You get out of it what you put into it!
