Pretty close to what I do but I fry bacon first and fry cabbage in bacon grease. Add bacon back to cabbage when done.

Chopped onion and smoked sausage is good in it, too!

Green for me, but purple would work.

OK - tried it last night. Green. Chopped an 1/2 yellow onion into it. 2 tsp. & fried down in a 1/4 cup butter & rendering of 2 bacon strips (added back in in bits at end). I used my cajun seasoning 2 tsp., 2 tsp. soy sauce & 1 tsp. cane syrup.

Had it with yellow rice. Came out so good Connie wants me to fix it again - so thanks for that idea!

Use green cabbage. The red will change color and bleed off some purple
