Spent 3 days at Texoma catching carp. Lots of fish from 6 to 10 lbs, but managed this one at 18lbs 10oz. Now according to the TPWD, the previous record was Mike Doran's at 14 lbs, so I think unless anyone knows something I don't I think I got it. Now the question is that I caught it on the Oklahoma side up the Washita Arm, so does this qualify as a Texoma record?
Nice fish. I am pretty sure that you need to be in Texas for a Texas Water Body Record. You might want to call the Anglers Recognition Program (Texas Parks & Wildlife) to get the right answer. Either way that is still a super catch.

Sinner's Prayer. God forgive me a sinner. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior !
The rules state: General Rules for All Award Categories - The fish must be legally caught in Texas waters. If you were on the shore on the Oklahoma side then that would not be Texas waters. You may want to confirm with TPWD. They will make the final determination. That is a nice fish.
Congrats! That's a great fish for Texoma! Although being on the OK side you're not going to be able to get the record for Texas. I don't think Oklahoma keeps as detailed records as Texas, but you can always call and ask their parks and wildlife.
Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp... https://txmultispecies.imgur.com/
Yeah it seems that Oklahoma only keeps state records maybe? I'm really most interested because my daughter wants to show her friends that I'm famous
I'd rather catch a lake record - official or not - than be famous

Homemade cottonseed meal dough bait banana flavor. Learned how to make it back in the late 80's from an oldtimer at the Lewisville barge. I baited with Range cubes and corn using one of those long tennis ball throwers about 3 hours before fishing.
