I'm not saying exactly where this was, but it's above Canyon lake not below. It was cold in the morning, but I still managed to catch several fish. I saw a few big bass jump and several huge carp, but I couldn't catch anything bigger than about 9 or 10 inches. It was great to be out on the river though, next time I'm bringing my inflatable kayak. I caught about 5 little bass and 3 or 4 sunfish (redbreasted I believe). I actually caught all the bass on trout spinners and one of the sunfish too. Other sunfish were caught on flies. Wildlife was out including squirrels, cardinals (redbird in Texas talk) baby frogs and a baby snake. Lots of animal tracks too, I think racoon and little deer.

Yes, that is a redbreast sunfish. I've heard them called "yellow bellies" in east Texas for obvious reasons.

HAHAA I am certainI know that stretch! I won't say where it is because I like it also. Haven't fished it in a while. The river has been low and slow.
