Went out by myself this morning to Eagle Mountain. Found and marked the fish, but had to entice them to bite. Tried some cut shad, no dice. Tried a couple small whole shad, no dice. I had packed my strawberry Jello chicken with Minced Garlic, and with Vanilla, so figured I'd give it a shot. Caught two dozen in an hour and a half, missed three or four. Chicken got it done today! Glad I brought it. Most all were good box fish, but I got plenty already, so turned them all back.

Chicken breast, cubed into chunks, add a bag of dry Strawberry Jello. I make a couple batches with fresh minced garlic thrown in, and a couple batches with Real Mexican Vanilla thrown in. Sits in the fridge a couple days in a gallon bag, to soak really good, then I break it up into a dozen or so chunks per qt bag, and toss it in the freezer. gives it a bright dark red color, along with the flavor of garlic or vanilla, also toughens the meat to make it harder to get off the hook. Take a bag of each when I go catfishing.
