Any reports for Ray Roberts? I’m going next weekend for sure. My brother is coming to town for some fishing and I hope to pu him on some fish. It’s been an off year for me.

Fishing is great on Ray Roberts.fish are on structure between 24 and 34 feet. Many of the fish are holding tight to the bottom and you have to look very close at your fish finder. I use a 3/4 ounce chrome slab with a chart hair jig about 20 inches above the slab. I just jig it about six to 12 inches repeatedly until they slam it . The fish are getting fat for the winter and full of Shad. They are pulling very hard and many times you will get doubles. I use a medium light rod with 15 lb braid and the fish are so very active they will put a big bend in your rod.
If you put in at the state park and head toward wolf island you will find fish everywhere on the roads and especially on humps. Look for fish that are active. If you drop your slabs many times the fish will come off the bottom and fill your screen . Sometimes just moving just a little or going to the other side of a hump you will find the mother load. Bring your electric knife you will be cleaning your limit if you follow these tips

Basically same report. Catching a lot of fish with chrome spoons and chartreuse slabs as well. Mixed in with whites are some really nice catfish. The bite has been late in the morning starting around 10 o'clock. Guides are using chartreuse slabs/soft baits and Alabama rigs. North end of lake towards Wolf island and points are producing well.

Agree, fish are fat and have lots of fight.

Glad to see that you and your brother had a successful day. I think it was you who launched next to me yesterday morning. I was in the pontoon boat. We also had a great day we found fish along roadbeds and on the side of humps in 24 feet of water and caught them on chrome Hopkins spoons with chart flies tied above. Size wise it was a mixed bag with a occasional 13 - 15 inch fish. What little wind we had died off at about 2pm and so did the active bite except for an occasional fish. Had a lot of fish on the sonar but they didn’t like our offering or technique. We search around and found fish that seemed more active but the bite was slow until I decided to try a newly bought mal lure bought from Bob Maindelle. I presented the lure exactly the way his video showed and it was game on . The fish loved them and so did I after another 26 fish. We ended the day with 78 fish caught and released for next time.

Thank you for your kind words sir. I had a lot of different used boats over the years I finally had a new boat built exactly to my liking. I have this tritoon outfitted with several Humminbirds, Garmin Panoptix, minn Kota ulterra, and minn Kota 15 foot Talons. Equipped the way it is allows me to fish for bass, crappie, striper , and sand bass. The equipment is very important to maintain precise boat control when fishing over structure. When my wife and I are feeling a little lazy on a hot day we put the top up, install the cannon downriggers on the rails, lower the downrigger balls have a cold drink and sandwich and pull in a occasional fish..Life is good I quess working for 55 years and recently retiring has finally paid off.
