I read a disturbing topic that the Zebra muscles have taken full force on Richland Chambers lake, if so that's not good news for Texas lakes. I see more people not so much as informed fisherman, but recreational boaters and the weekend angler load up the boat and just drive away. Full livewell hull plug still in, grass hanging off the trailer etc. this will possibly get worse just time will tell.

I haven’t heard that, but it doesn’t mean it’s not true. If so, that’s a concern alright. Lots of traffic on that reservoir !

Texoma has them. Does seem like the end of the world.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Every lake around here has them whether TPWD knows or not. They don't harm the environment and nature balances them out over time. Biggest issues are for pipes and boats.

They outcompete native mussel species which are already doing poorly

Why are they already doing poorly? I don't know about you but I am still finding plenty of shells of native mussels/clams on the shore. No more than I have always found. Nature balances them out in time anyways (zebras)

Why are they already doing poorly?

Unfortunately nobody knows why. But populations have been reduced by 50% up to 90% both here and in Europe

Believe me it's happening all over, this is just focusing on the mussels in that area.

Oh, I haven't noticed a difference in anything. Ray roberts had them really bad a few years back and they covered everything. Now, I don't see any at all. It will all work out.

IMHO they were a good thing on Bridgeport. At least from a bass fishing standpoint.

"Muscles" are what a human being has to give them strength. "Mussels" is the common name used for members of several families of bivalve molluscs, from saltwater and freshwater habitats.
