I have yet to read a single report that shows any significant negative impacts these have had on lakes outside of having to clean water intake pipes and peoples boats. They were supposed to be the death of the Great Lakes but have instead cleaned up a cesspool and turned them into very good fisheries. I even read where they said them getting into RayBob was going to mean all the grass would die yet the grass has come back great in many areas of the lake. Chambers needs some cleaning up so maybe this is a good thing long term.

IMHO: they were great for Bridgeport......at least from a fishing/water quality standpoint I am on the fence as to was it the zebra mussels out here or the lake being so low for a couple of years then coming back up is the reason it got better. Water quality was great at Bridgeport for years and years but I think about 5-6 years back all the lakeside construction caused a ton of runoff and affected clarity. I know tve fishi g has really improved tve past 2 years quality wise.

It seems like when they first got in a lake they explode but then after a few years they level of considerably. All the lakes and rivers around here have them and they're all doing fine... Dan
