Fished Fayette today from daybreak til 3:00. Water temp 80-83 degrees and down about a foot from what it was a month ago. Spent most of the day chasing bass, but had to try for a few gils as well. Ended up with around 15 bass, 25 sunfish & 8 rios. Most of the bass were caught on Yazuri rattle trap type baits & plastic worms & the rest were caught on Gulp Alive minnows. Tried taking some video because the sky was awesome in the morning, but only got a few decent fish that may make it on the best of 2020 movies (bass & sunfish)... [Linked Image]

Good job Steve. Im up in Ohio with cold weather and rain. Yuck. The pics the day before from another person posting showed what look like algae. Did you see a lot of that? Or dead fish? Were all your bluegills that size?

Thanks all for the replies...

Chuck...It was a mixed bag. Some of the bass were caught in shallow water ripping the bait through the grass (4-6 ft deep), while others were caught deeper alongside the gils (7-15 feet deep) I did catch a few gils shallow at the end of the trip, but they were small.

Tom...The bluegill size was for the most part very small compared to what we were catching a month ago, however the Rios were all pretty consistent with what they have been. I did see some dead fish, but it was pretty minimal compared to last year. I did not notice much difference in water color or see any algae bloom anywhere.

Thanks Steve. I kind of thought during this time of year some bass would be running with some Bluegill. Hope you run into some "HUNGRY BLUEGILL" this winter ! hooked

I mostly fish for bass but it makes my week to see and read your post. So well done and the colors of the fish are so vivid. Do you use something special to get those colors? Keep catchin' 'em!

BASSCATONE/Cellis...I use a free software called FotoSketcher...You can do a lot of stuff with this software, but the module I use the most is called "vivify". You can make a picture darker or lighter, increase contrast and increase/decrease color.

Laker...Almost ready to start on "best of 2020"...waiting on a rainy day !
