He should not need one. Neither Texas or Oklahoma requires one for 16 and under.

That makes no sense. If the laws in both states have the same wording why in the world would one lake occupying both states need special rules? Not only that, I carry a Texas and Oklahoma license and the wording reads like I will have to buy a Texoma a license also.

So they sell a Texoma-specific license for $12 and you don’t need an actual fishing license for either state? And Texas will charge you $12 in addition to your normal fishing license just to make an extra $12 without telling you it’s necessary? I need at least $36 back from the state, if that’s the case.

If you are fishing from a boat, the Texoma permit may be of value. The Texas Oklahoma boundary does not run down the middle of the lake, so it may be difficult to know if you are fishing in Oklahoma or Texas.

went back and re read it, he is right, a Texas or Okieland license is not good on the whole lake, both together are.

as said, bank fishing you only need the states license of the side you are on, get on the lake and you "should" have the texoma license to cya.

So that is bad info, I got a trip up there early November and a youth will be in the boat, which is it?

At $12 I am not sure it’s worth the risk. I can’t understand why they would need one if the laws of both states do not require a minor of that age to have one.
