I have never tried it but a lot of people have nice things to say about The Garrison Brothers barrel proof stuff.

I am currently trying to get my hands on The Harbinger by Ironroot ideally the second batch.

Also if you like crown reserve give TX blended a shot, to me it is smother but with the same crown sweetness.

A five spot for a shot and a beer? And you wonder how we wound up here.

I'd get a 18/21yr scotch. Whiskey in that price range is just expensive because it's rare and people are dumb. A good scotch will be worth the $200. When you can't make up your mind, just go with the old standby blend, Johnnie Walker Blue.

Judging that you like Forty Creek, I think you'd prefer Irish Whiskey to Scotch
Redbreast 15 year
Dingle Single Pot Still
Bushmills 16 year

I enjoy Scotch also but it's better with a cigar IMO. Hard for me to enjoy straight without a cigar.

I have had a few $100 range bottles of Scotch that were decent.
