Took the kayak up to Fayette County this weekend. Hit that grey weather after the front passed through and slayed them Saturday. Not sure the final count but well over 30 bass in the 1-4 lb range plus one blue cat close to 7 lb that had me thinking I had hooked into a monster bass while fishing a 10" worm through thick timber. Caught them from shallow water grass mainly on lipless crankbaits out to some deep structure bass on my new Nate's Custom Baits Hybrid Swim Jigs. Beautiful lake and lots of chunky bass. Can't wait to go back again.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Good work! Makes me want to leave the office and hit the lake... sigh.

Yeah this was only my 3rd time to fish this lake but in those 3 times I have yet to catch any skinny bass. They all look like they had no reason at all to bite my lure. The amount of forage fish in that lake for bass is unreal. Definitely one of my favorites. And due to the small size of the lake it is well suited for kayaks...except when the wind is blowing. That round lake doesn't offer a lot of quick refuge when the wind picks up.
