I am thinking of installing a Humminbird 360 on my boat but here is my question.

If I link it to the Helix 12 that is up front can I still run 2 D sonar? I'd like to have both options.

Would I just keep the Helix 12 plugged into the universal transducer on my Ultrex and then just switch back and forth between 360 imaging and 2 D sonar?

Thanks a bunch.

With both 360's you can have the 360 and 2D view displayed at the same time or on different views.

You would need a G3N SI+ or DI+ to run the MEGA 360 and then you cannot use the Universal Sonar, must have HW CHIRP.

Hi Wayne - I have a brand new Helix 12 G3N HD CHIRP and when I spoke with the Humminbird rep this week and he said I would have no problem using a MEGA 360:transducer.

The Demo mode on the Helix also shows 360 imaging.

Am I missing something???

First of all there is no "Helix 12 G3N HD CHIRP". Must be specific with the actual accurate model names.

There are three versions of the Helix 12 G3N units.
Helix 12 CHIRP GPS G3N
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA DI+ GPS G3N
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N

All three versions will run the 360. That is why you have the 360 View in Simulator/Demonstration. The 360 is an Ethernet accessory.

The Helix 12 CHIRP GPS G3N unit will NOT run the MEGA 360=== The MEGA 360 REQUIRES a SI+ or DI+ model.
The MEGA 360 is a regular transducer connection and uses the two SI circuits.

The details for the MEGA 360 was published by Humminbird on July 1, 2019. Nothing has changed since then.

Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3,
Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1
