Being the honest person I told him no I didn’t. He said that I was not allowed to fish that pond and I had forever know that the south pond at Morgan’s Crossing with the dock was private as it has a sign saying so. But for all these years the north pond never had a sign one and never had anyone tell me I wasn’t allowed to fish there. I explained that but he said they would be putting up signs soon and that it has always been private. I agreed to leave with no issues as I’m not gonna argue with the guy. But just to make sure I called Allen parks and Rec. dept and they said that it was not listed as an amenity for the park so she could only assume what he told me was correct. So just passing on the message to others that have bank fished that pond. I know it probably won’t stop anyone from fishing it but I was just a little disappointed to hear that it would soon have signs up. Sucks I fished there for so long with no problems I had a feeling once they put houses in on that east side that this would happen. Anyways rant over. Just annoyed about it.

Bummer... several ponds in the area went HOA over the years. Still missing one that I know has some big ones!

As part of our Little Red Book of Fly Fishing series on our iFishNews Fishing Podcast, here is a video to expand on Tip 26 that calls for casting 40 feet in 4 seconds. The book mentions fly casting from a practical caster standpoint - specifically, being able to cast 40 feet of line in 4 seconds to a target called out by someone else at random. This one had our interests, so we decided to give it a try.

But, we made an oops. The tip calls for holding the fly in your hand. Here is a quick impromptu do over from the other day. It's still challenging, and it's still fun! Do give it a try!

Thanks! Here it is...

Blue River Fishing | Preseason Scouting Trip

Decided to make the run to the Blue River for a preseason fishing trip. Trout are scheduled to be stocked in the near future. Best to checkout the river and see if anything has changed.

Was a great trip. Did not catch any big ones but did have fun catching a fish or two while scouting the river! River was looking really nice, and the weather was even nicer.

Fished with the Discount Switch Rod - 2wt Maxcatch Fly Rod with Hydros SL1 Reel with OPST Commando Head (mentioned Rio Trout Max in the video... it's the OPST).

Also, the Tandem Rig Fishing Fly setup worked on the fish, hope it works on trout in the next few weeks. Do keep the Blue River in your back pocket this coming Trout Stocking Season!
