Hidden doorways. Have you ever had one? I rebuilt a house in 1989 and had a hidden closet behind a stained glass window. The again in 94 built a house in Alba that had a porch all the way around it. Had built in bookcases in every bedroom upstairs. The bookcase swung out for attic access to the attic space above the porch.
My oldest son remembers that and now hes a builder in Mobile. Hes done several hidden rooms to conceal gun safes. Just find the whole thing linda cool

We had one built into the bookcase in my office, It opens into a 10x10 saferoom where I keep most of the guns, and other items I want to keep hidden. It is so well hidden my wife sometimes has trouble opening it.

Not well hidden , but we have a bonus room in attic. It is accessible from a stairwell in the garage. A hidden door could be easily added. We use it for storage now, but ready to finish out, needs paint, and flooring, and tied in to AC.

I always wanted a house like that. I think it was the show Webster that had those features....never have owned a house with that stuff, though...

I have a reverse garage and storage building. You can actually see them, you just can’t get inside them....

I'm going to do that in my next house. One of our sales guys years back out of our Tulsa office had a really nice home on Lake Skiatook. He has a bookcase door into a gun room. First one I'd ever seen.

Thanks, Billy

I think it has something to do with revenge porn.

My folks old house in Sanger had a hidden storm shelter room in the house. You'd never guess it was there even when you were looking at the place for the entry. When we eventually move from the suburbs to a more rural area, I expect to have a similar room built in to our home (if it doesn't already have one).

Also remember some family friends in CA who had a secret entrance in the den. It opened to a staircase that went up to an attic area that was a complete little apartment - a small living area with foldout bed, a kitchenette, and a small bathroom (toilet, sink, stand-up shower). As a kid, it was the coolest playhouse in the world. As an adult, I sometimes wonder what they had in mind when they built that setup.

We just installed a pair of Murphy hidden door bookcases this week. Glad to answer any questions. [Linked Image]
