Hey everyone my brother is having his bachelor party down at Crystal Beach and i was wondering if anyone has done any gigging down there. We will be going in the middle of September. I plan on doing some surf fishing in the mornings and walking around with a gig at night. If you have done any good let me know. We don't want to charter a boat or anything because of the big group but a few of us want to give it a shot. I have gigged other placed just not here. Thanks for reading and i would appreciate any input!

Not on Bolivar peninsula, but you can get up super early (or, you know, stay up late drinking) and hit the Lagoon on the east end of Galveston: https://www.google.com/maps/place/29%C2%B019'29.9%22N+94%C2%B045'18.6%22W/@29.324961,-94.7573457,892m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x863f0e986d936d5b:0xe2aa23def31d90d1!2sCrystal+Beach,+Bolivar+Peninsula,+TX+77550!3b1!8m2!3d29.457177!4d-94.6396378!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d29.3249607!4d-94.7551567

Full moon, changing tide, etc.

Thank you! I might make a scouting trip down there soon and see what I can find. I need to make sure all my equipment is still in good enough shape.

I would scope out some areas that have mud flats. Those tend to do the best for holding flounder, but flounder can honestly be found everywhere. The only problem with mud flats is they are really hard to walk in, so some good waders that fit very well are very important. Otherwise you'll be coming out of your boots. Heres a good article on flounder gigging to learn more stuff

Thanks!
