I've been making this for years. You can adjust the ingredients a little to suite your liking.... More/less spicy or more/less sweet depending on what I am cooking or who I am cooking for.
1 cup ketchup 1/2 cup vinegar 1 cup spicy brown mustard 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup apricot preserves 2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp onion powder 3 tsp chili powder 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Mix all ingredients in a pot and simmer for about 5 minutes or so. Stir very often so you dont burn it. Strain and enjoy! Mine is pretty much the same but i use yellow mustard, 1/2 cup of coffee and grape jelly.

I really like now Head Country. it is very tasty, perfectly emphasizes the taste of barbecue. But before that I did everything myself, just mixed different herbs, oils and sauces together, it was also good

This is excellent. I may or may not have mixed this 50/50 with Head Country for BBQ competitions back in the day

Smoked chicken and turkey definitely benefit from some sauce
Brisket and ribs hold the sauce

I got some 407 the other week. That sauce changed, I thought it was just Head Country but something wasn't right.
I buy Stubbs, Head Country and Sweet Baby Ray's.
