Got a little fishing in at Aquilla yesterday. Well maybe more than a little. Got on the water at about 7:30 and off about 4:15. Water temp at the ramp was 66 degrees and 74 at the dam at 11:00. Caught about 35 or so with only a few short fish. Could have had a limit if I had kept 10” fish. I’m gonna make some fish jerky, so I wanted some bigger fish. Kept 16. Smallest was 11.5”. Big fish was right at 14”. It had a massive growth on its mouth. Crappie Magnet was the ticket today. White 1/8 oz jig head with Tennessee Shad color. It had to be moving to get a bite. Most fish were in 16’ of water hanging on the edges of brush. I did finally catch some fish at the bridge. I love this time of year!
