Depends on whether I`m on a meat run for a Fish Fry or not. meat Run =10" or better My personal pref = 11"- 13" Ms. Shaw = 13" or Better she`s an Elderly Neighbor  HE aka Fishbonz

Legal fish go in the livewell until I hit a limit, doesn’t matter if they’re 10.5” or 17”. Bigger ones just save a few seconds because they don’t need to be measured but they all fillet up fine.

Personal preference, but I like to keep the 10" to 12" fish for eating. They fry fast, with nice flaky meat inside and a crunchy outside. These fish are just reaching sexual maturity and don't add much to the spawn. As long as its legal, I throw back the big fish.
