The American Cancer Society in association with the Ray Hubbard Bass Cub are proud to announce the Fifth Annual Fish For A Cure benefit tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard! Here are the details.

• When: Sunday November 1st
• Where: Lake Ray Hubbard - Chandlers Landing Ramp (10.00 launch fee to be paid at registration)
• Time: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Registration: 5:00 - 7:30 AM
• Entry Fee: $150.00 per boat - 2 person maximum - $20.00 Big Bass option with 100% payback
• Guaranteed win payout of $1500.00 with no minimum entries

All proceeds from this tournament go directly to the American Cancer Society for the fight against cancer. This is a team tournament. One or two people per boat. You will register in person the morning of the event. Our Tournament Director again this year will be Larry Ladnier with Victory Fishing, a long time Ray Hubbard fixture. He will have the weigh in stage set up for registration/check in Sunday morning beginning at 5:00 in the parking lot at Chandlers Landing Marina. Once you have registered and had your live well check done, you may launch, or trailer to a ramp of your choice. First cast is at 7:00AM. Lines must be out of the water at 3:00PM. You must be in line to weigh your fish at Chandlers Landing Marina by 4:00PM. Entry fee is $150.00 with a $20 big bass option.

As per our agreement with ACS and the City of Rockwall, we will be following all mask and social distancing regulations. All tournament officials and volunteers will be wearing masks. We will be asking participants to keep your distance from each other at registration and weigh in. We would prefer you wear masks, but it is not mandatory.

FFAC 2020 Official Rules

After you register, you will have the opportunity to buy tickets for our drawing. Tickets will be $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. A full list of prizes will be posted here soon.

If you or your business is interested, sponsorships are available from $250.00 - $2500.00. Each level has a few more benefits. Every sponsorship of $500.00 or more comes with at least one free tournament entry. Obviously this year is a much scaled down version of FFAC. Because of the Covid-19 problem, with so many people struggling financially, and the uncertainty of being able to have gatherings of any size, we are very late planning the event and we feel asking for sponsorships from local businesses is not appropriate. If you cannot attend but would like to make a donation, we have a web site set up to do that. The link is at the bottom of this post. You cannot register for the tournament on line this year. You will need to do that in paerson on Sunday morning. The payout structure this year will be 1 in 5 out to 6 places. After 30 entries, payout for all spots including the first place team will go up. This will still maximize the amount of money being raised for ACS.

One thing is for certain, pandemic or not, Cancer marches on. The world’s focus may not be on it as much right now, but it’s still affecting millions of people, and if we can do just a little bit to help in this fight, we will. We hope you come and join us on November 1st and make a difference.

Big news for participants! Thanks to the generosity of our members Shellye and James Crawford, we are going to have event shirts to give out to the participants as we did last year! We have enough for 80 boats or so, (160 shirts) so if we draw what we did last year, you want to make sure you get there early because when they are gone, they are gone. The event is this Sunday!
