Buck is still made in America. I'm not crazy about the steel in the stockman, but you can get the lockbacks in some good steel now. I have been carrying a boker tree brand stockman "4474" type made out of 440C stainless, and its a good knife.

My first and only swiss army knife had a single 1 1/2" blade. A great pin knife I used for everything.

Tree brand was best I had owned, lost it and store I bought from quit selling them. Have had several Schrades and Cases, now carry leatherman wave. The first wave I had and lost was excellent, this one now a couple years old is no where in the same ball park as my first one.

Entirely separate question with nothing to do with my 1st question.
What is the "most useful" Swiss Army Knife?

the one in your hand.

I carry both of these and use them daily, kershaw has an excellent warranty if needed, never had to send an old timer in since I mostly lose them before I break them.
old timer/uncle henry/schrade, uncle henry is a great daily carry/use, same as an old timer for the most part tho.
the kershaw is assisted open, very handy when you need it in a hurry.
knives plus is a good site to shop, look local for better pricing.

oh, tractor supply and atwoods have the kershaws as well as 3-4 other brands for cheap.

I have had an old leatherman for at least 25 plus years, it's the original, can't tell you how many times it's gotten me out of a bind. Lost it one time for a few Months, then found it when I was cleaning the pontoon. I carry it every day and use it often.

I had one of these on my keychain for more than a decade and it became frequently used at work for very important tasks. It was confiscated by TSA and this was after the rule change to allow tiny blades.

I have been carrying Benchmade all of my adult life, I have 7 or 8 of them but I always end up going back to this https://www.benchmade.com/940-943-family.html
In my OHO it is the best EDC knife ever made.

Check out a Leatherman Skeletool multitool. It has the stuff I use, and not much else, so its lighter.

Case XX Trapper. I always have a few on hand and one is always in my pocket. Not very expensive, hold an edge well, easy to sharpen. Good all around choice.
