Hey Guys! Hope you all are having a good day! Wanted to get some advice...I'm looking for a great all around rod to use for bass fishing but could also be used at the beach/bay/sound. So I'd like to catch bass mainly but also at the beach would target speckled trout, red drum & flounder. What do you think of this pole? https://amzn.to/3jYigYg And if not that one how about this one: https://amzn.to/314uI1cIt's hard because I don't want a huge pole for bass but want it to be effective in saltwater. Also open to other suggestions regarding good rod/reel combos for beach fishing - oh yea also I usually use lures incase that matters. Thanks for everyone's help! Luke

Your two links are pretty much from one extreme to the other. - I don't know anyone that Bass fishes with a 10 to 12 ft. rod. - The second one is only 6'6".
Select anything in the 7' to 7' 6" spinning in Med. Heavy with a light tip. It will get the job done for both applications. The reel selection would best be chosen in a Salt Water application with Stainless Steel parts; but in a nice compact size. Some of the Salt Water versions are quite large.
Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success. I have a couple of friends who like to fish the salt. They use 7+ Dobyns rods as Donald says and use their Shimano reels and have no problems. Everything from fishing the flats to fishing the rigs. They are anal about rinsing EVERYTHING with fresh water every day at the end of the day. Then when they get home, they will clean and lube their reels just for insurance.

An American pride rods 7'6MH (The Rocket) and a Shimano Curado K and you should not have a single problem!

For salt water fishing you never know what you will hook into. I'd go with spinning gear, primarily because you can get a reel with a good drag system at a much lower cost.
Rod Ugly Stik Elite in Medium Heavy. Reel Daiwa BG 3500 size
This set up would work well for LMB no problem.

H20 express inshore spinning rod, M, about 7’.
Penn Battle II 2000 or 2500 size (whatever been goes by). 20lb braid, 10Ib fluoro leader of your chosen length.
This combo would be fine for bass and great for specks, reds, flounder, etc. Have used this combo all over Florida and it’s now if my bass boat for weightless flukes, dropshot, or whatever. Could go bigger if you plan to target bull reds and/or tarpon but then it wouldn’t be ideal for bass.
