I have a shield on the bottom of my Ecoboost engine which came loose and is now damaged. It is not metal but is some sort of fibrous material (it is not a skid plate).
I think I can straighten and reattach. Today Ford told me the little plastic fasteners (they are little plastic screws 3/4 inch long)
are $15.42 each and an OEM replacement shield is $144.00.

Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you deal with it?
Could you find any aftermarket parts?
Would you just leave it off and move on?

Go to Auto Zone for the clips.

^^^ This

Not on a truck, but my wife's escape has the same shield. I took it off and left it off so I can now change oil on it without ramps/jacking it up/ or a lift. I believe it is there for aerodynamics funny thing is I believe my wife's gets better mileage without it.

It’s to hide the oil leaks until the motor is out of warranty. Lol.

If you want to keep it lean it in the garage. If your trash man will take it let him.
