I've been thinking about getting back out and tournament fishing after the first of the year, provided I can get shook loose from my job.
I haven't fished the BFL in a couple of years now, work and other things got in the way.
I ran across ABA Solo. I like the idea of fishing by myself. Don't have to worry about a Co Angler locking my keys in my truck while it running.
The part of don't like is having to fish with a mask on when I'm the only one in the boat. I guess with a buff as opposed to a paper mask it may not be that big a deal. I can see registation, weighin etc., but fishing only one in the boat.
Running down the lake 70 mph trying to keep a paper mask on may be a challange LOL.

Getting DQ'd in a Trounament for not wearing a mask fishing all by your lonesome would be a first for many people!!!
I read the rules, twice and its say a mask is required while fishing.

heck that would stop me from fishing it, just for fear of being DQ'd. Getting a drink and forgetting to pull it back up. Can't tell you how many times I have had to walk back to my car to get a mask.

You dont have to wear a mask when you are in the boat alone. Only at weigh in and take off, if its anything like the other ABA trails.

surely they will change this ....... I can manage in the crowd and at weigh in but out on the water alone would be absurd 1. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Due to governmental requirements on preventive measures of COVID-19 and, until further notice ā SOCIAL DISTANCING AND FACE COVERINGS WILL BE REQUIRED AT ALL ABA FUNCTIONS INCLUDING ON-SITE REGISTRATION, MORNING RULES MEETING, WHILE FISHING, DURING WEIGH-INS AND AWARDS PRESENTATIONS.

I spoke with ABA. It was a mistake in the rules. Dont have to wear a mask while fishing. I think this series is going to be great and fill a needed void in the tournament world.

Glad it was a mistake. I am so over the masks. dealing with the covid crud since it started has run it's course. ready for it to be over and gone. I am going to look into this trail, as I want to fish something solo next year
