I use a berkley digital, pretty close and easy to use, batteries last a couple of yrs. with light use.

I had 3 Brecknell's fail on me and they have terrible customer service, always said I got them wet. The dealer I bought them from had to replace them his self. Sure won't buy anymore of them.

The one i have has a hook to put in the gills. Will that harm a fish you are going to release back into the water?

Not if you're careful when you slide it into their gills. I replaced the metal hook with a small plastic clip like this.

I think I bought mine at Academy for $3 but it is an offbrand. Take the metal hook off the scale by opening the O-ring and replace with this.

This is also a good scale for the money. Reads in pounds & oz or pounds & hundredths.
