Just wondering why everyone chooses one over the other, or when you would use one over the other. I use Peg it’s most of the time. In the spring I’ll use a bobber stopper with a flipping hook, snelled. But that’s the only time. Just wondering if I’m right in my thinking.

I only use peggits ‘cause they’re cheap and easy.

Lol that’s why I use them too. And they work.. the reason I go to the snelled hook is the spring is it seams to stick those quick biters I was missing on a regular worm hook better..

Same here. Of course, I have not picked up a rod and reel since March.

Still using a flat toothpick. Zero issues for nearly 50 years. It appears to me that the bober stop/peg its were a solution to an problem that didn't really exist. I fish with guys that use them and they probably have more issues than I do. Just an old guy making an observation.

What issues are bobber stoos causing these guys? I'm curious since they seem to be really simple to me. Hard to imagine them causing an issue.

When fishing grass lakes like Choke, the bobber stops seen to catch more tendrils of grass than my toothpick pegged ones do. Once again, I'll reiterate that peg its and bobber stops are a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. A flat toothpick, not gorilla jammed int the weight, hold great, doesn't harm the line and costs $1.79 for 750 of them. Been working on a box for over 10 years now.

Bobber stops are a big improvement in all of the previous items used for that purpose. And cheap too.

I originally started using toothpicks tgen switched to the black rubber strands. Eventually I started using tge bobber stops. In 12-15 years in all types of cover and weights tvey just fit my preference better. You can buy them in bulk fir dirt cheap. I doubt I have spent more than $50 combined in that time for them. They just work best for me.

I fish the heaviest cover I can find. Every bush that I pitch in has heavy limps. The bite can always be different on any given day. This is what I have noticed with Bobber Stops when there is NO reaction bite. I am speaking of using both products in Mexico where we catch 100 Bass per day. It doesn't take long to learn what works best. The Peg-It from Academy with the flat round head has a slit it for the knot to center up on the weight and protects it very well.
- There is a ball of rubber in front of the weight with the bobber stop.
- Rubber catches on everything.
- When I pull the rig UP in a tree or bush to hold it there; it feels just like a soft bite to me when it touches the limb.
- I want to hold the bait against the limb for a few seconds before letting it slip over the limb.
- A tungsten weight touching the limb has a different feel than the ball of rubber has.
- After letting the bait soak against the limb; using a bobber stop requires applying more pressure to get the rig over the limb to let the bait fall back to the bottom of the bush.
- This extra pressure requires a slightly harder lift and sling shots the rig farther than I want it to go because of the extra pressure applied.
- I want the rig to slip over the limb with very little tension and fall straight down.
- When installing the Peg-It slightly stretch the long end at the nose of the weight before clipping it off. It will retract just inside the nose which leaves no rubber sticking out.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.
