We headed out to Amistad yesterday(Friday 10-9-20). We tried out some new 1/32 oz jigs and 1/16 oz jigs. The weather was super hot and so was the bite. We caught over 30ish fish ranging from catfish white bass lmb and small mouth and lots of long ear also caught warmouth and a greenie.














My pb smallie 17 3/4 . Caught it on a 1/16 oz solid pink jig.

Caught this smaller one on a 1/4 oz.

That's BIG SMALLMOUTH...What lb. test line did you catch that beast on ?

Nice fish and huge congratulations on the Smallmouth! If that fish was 18 plus inches you could have submitted it for the Amistad Catch & Release Smallmouth Bass Record. There is no current C&R Smallmouth for Amistad.

I have fished Amistad a few times over the years. Plan on fishing there again next year. Great post with some nice fish. Your Smallmouth Bass is totally AWESOME!

Side Note: Amistad is a huge lake. How was the boat traffic and what ramp did you launch from?

I was using 8lb. test. They fight really hard, even the small ones!

Thank you Gitter Done! Im starting to love that lake also its so beautiful. As for boat traffic it can get hectic at the ramp other than that once your on the lake not a problem. We've been launching off of Box Canyon ramp.

We went back yesterday(10-10). We fished a different cove and we're finding fish in deeper water even the longear. We caught small mouth, lmb, white bass and stripe bass, catfish.












Once the sun set we turned on the green lights and they attracted lots of bait.



All fish were released to swim another day.
