Is a number 4 bronze 4x treble hook too thick for white bass?

Today i ordered me a silver glitter shad from rsr lures but i chose the bronze number 4 4x treble hook and was wondering if its too thick and will rip out of a sandbass mouth when i set the hook ?

It will work, I personally replace trebles with singles, or cut one or two of the hooks off the treble and mash the barb flat.

The number 4 will work fine. I use the same size on my slabs, but like TCK said I break off one barb and make it a double. Those white bass like to thrash around way too much for me.

It's a great hook size in my opinion. We use 4x vmc treble hooks on all our slabs to prevent the hooks bendin when I'm taking the customer's fish off.
