This is a 15 Boston Whaler Dauntless for $5000 - I made a lengthy post about these, the sister 13's, 21, 23, & 27 in the Boats/Motors section. They have more freeboard than your standard bay boat so you can go out to blue water. Strong enough to re-engine (many times).

A lot depends on how you like to fish. Everything's a compromise. As a general rule, a softer ride means more draft. Higher freeboard means it catches more wind. Bigger boats mean bigger tow vehicles. And so on and so forth...... So, a drift fisherman might prefer a different boat than a wade fisherman. How do you spend the majority of your fishing time?

Thanks guys for the input....currently live in ft worth area-retiring to the coastal region near Katy. Currently Spend my fishing time on hybrids/stripers and big blue cats. I enjoy drift fishing and using bait. I don't mind throwing plastics/ lures....Id like to target reds/trout Im interested in an 18-20 foot boat in which you can fish 2-3 people....and handle slight chop. Mostly open water / jetties/ channels / most likely not up shallows/creeks or wading/ .........Truck i use is F 150. Lived in Florida previously and fished for reds/trout near oyster beds/ structure/ using 16 foot jon boat with bass seats / turf flooring near cedar key. Need something simple and dependable.
