 Surprise Slab while Bass Fishing?!

Myself and a few friends went out to do some bass fishing. One of the friends with me had fished this body of water a good amount and had never caught any crappie. However, after thinking the cast I had just made was over and burning in a lipless crank, a crappie SLAMMED it right at the boat. I had never seen a crappie be so aggressive. Do crappie normally eat larger artificial lures like that? I was very surprised by this. Sadly I was not recording when this happened, but did record after the catch and explain what happened. Yes sir, crappie are like bass when it comes to a reaction strike. If they can get it in their mouth they will.

Yes sir, crappie are like bass when it comes to a reaction strike. If they can get it in their mouth they will. No joke!? Haha, I guess I am just used to the more subtle jig bite.

I’ve caught them on full size spinnerbaits, flukes, lizards, and crankbaits.

I’ve caught them on full size spinnerbaits, flukes, lizards, and crankbaits. Yeah I think I am just not the most weathered crappie fishermen! I would take crappie while bass fishing any day haha!

I caught a big crappie on a dd while bass fishing at pk this august. It was a shock. The idea that it thought it could get it down was funny.
