I can tell you LCRA who controls what happens in most of the lakes in this area...don't give a flyin f about homeowners spraying the lakes. I contacted them directly about homeowners spraying on LBJ. Might as well have been winking at Stevie Wonder. I posted this either last year or the year before the responses from LCRA. It was a joke.

Yes these IDIOTS seem compelled to ruin all the lakes in Texas that they can by killing of all the grass in the lakes.

I think CCA enlisted the members of various existing organizations. They then quickly realized that going against small local entities wasn't going to get them anywhere. For this effort, I would thing you could start membership solicitation with existing bass clubs and tournament circuit members. Include various wildlife and environmental sensitive organization (its not just a fishing thing). Once organized, dont bother to mess with HOAs, local water boards, small town governments. Go to the state legislature. There need to be rules regarding how ALL waters within the state of Texas are managed and treated. If you can get the support of existing state agencies (Dept of health, TPWD), great. If they don't want to participate, go around them.
A couple dozen land owners don't get to decide how the waters used by millions are treated.
Think how fast the state got spun up about CWD. TPWD was all over it cause deer is all they care about. Create that kind of stir... . with or without TPWD.

I saw hundreds of dead deer in the dead grass at RC. It appears herbicides are causing a novel CWD.

UPDATE:
I spoke directly to TPWD on this issue. TPWD DID NOT AUTHORIZE ANY HERBICIDE APPLICATION IN THAT AREA. So if you know for a fact that someone did spray in that area (specifically the area around Pelican Island) it needs to be reported. This is something that can be acted upon if there are witnesses to an unauthorized application. This could potentially be a violation at several different levels. If TPWD does not want to pursue it, there is another avenue via TDA that can be taken. I am happy to help if anyone knows for a fact that a herbicide application was made.

I also imagine TCEQ would be willing to investigate or would like to hear about Texas waters being contaminated

I was over there this weekend too and something definitely got sprayed. No way all that grass and pads just died like that.

Get some of the dead grass and pads and take it to TPWD and see if they can test it for chemicals.

TRWD controls this lake according to google. You might check with them. It was on their FB page earlier this year or the end of last. Let me know if Iām wrong

the evidence is overwhelming that grass especially in aging reservoirs provides great cover for the entire fish chain to prosper and when you spray the grass,it ruins the fishing........and the evidence is overwhelming that cormorants are bad for the fishery..... WHY IS OUR FISHERY BIOLOGISTS NOT DOING ABOUT EITHER ????....

Saw more grass than I've ever seen in my life fishing Mississippi River around La Crosse WI earlier this year. Didn't see any sprayed grass, but several of these rigs working. Is this not an economical way to get rid of grass?

There used to be hydrilla removal boats here in East Texas. Not sure what happened to them.
