Well a buddy and me went to the lake of no cell service sat 10/03. We made the almost 2hour drive out to Miller's Creek Res and it didn't disappoint. We didn't catch alot but we were able to get my buddy his new personal best!
This lake is absolutley full of gizzard shad! I didn't even have to launch the boat to catch them. Just a couple throws from the shore and had (2) one gallon bags completely full.
The wind was howling from the SW yesterday for the 1st part of the day then completely disappearing later in the day.
We started off shallow fishing flats and within 30mins he landed his new pb! We did some scouting after that as this was only the 2nd time I've catfished this lake. We hit a few wind blown points and picked some off here and there including a bonus hybrid that gave us a run for our money getting us wrapped up in a tree on a windy point.
I also finally saw the infamous cattle pens out in the middle ofthe lake that has claimed a lower unit or two over the years. There are several that are just below the surface in this area.
We ended with 12 fish all together keeping 11. All in all is was a great day on water.
