Crazy Horse will never be finished. They make millions a year in donations.
The US government has offered to complete it. But the family refused. 10.00 to park and donation boxes all over.

We went to see Crazy Horse as a kid 20-25 years ago and it looked about the same thing - are they even working on it?

It was free to park there, but yes on the donation boxes

I think they do one ceremonial blast every fiver years or so. It's been a long time since anyone has diligently worked on it. What's the point of finishing it at this point? People are already visiting it.

I was there in 1989, it still looks the same.

Nice pictures and thanks for sharing. My grandparents to me up there on vacation back in the early 90's. I loved that place and still have a rock in my office that was a souvenir from Crazy Horse.

I was thinking the same thing. Was there with my grandparents about 25 years ago and it looks the same. It would be really cool if they would make some progress on it.

There are fees to enter, and the amount depends on how many are in the car. That fee includes parking. There are donation boxes everywhere. The family that has owned it since the beginning makes a ton on fees, donations, tours to the base of the mountain, gift shop and a fairly decent restaurant. Not much incentive to finish by spending any of that income.

Went to Sturgis back in '07. From the looks of the pics they haven't chipped a rock since. Only thing their selling is a story.

I've seen it more than once and there was no difference between the first time and the second. It's cool, but there isn't much reason to see it more than once.

agree...Mt. Rushmore is like Niagara Falls,if you have seen it once, not scenic enough to warrant going back again....I've been to yellowstone and grand canyon twice and wouldn't hesitate to go back again....
