Bad Experience with Zac Starling. He offered a Humminbird 1198 with cover, mount, and mapping chip for $300. I contacted him and made arrangements to meet him and pick it up at his work site. I met him and he gave me the sonar. I opened the map slot and ask where the map was? His response was did I say that. I told him yes. After contacting him by phone he informed me his father had the map chip and he would mail it to me.
I got home and hooked the unit up and it would only work in simulator mode. I went to my tech shop. Terry Tanner who owns and runs Anglers Marine in Seven Points. He told me lets put it on my bench and see about it. He did and it would only work in simulator mode. I contacted Zac and he commences to tell me to contact Humminbird it needs an update or something.
I had my radiation appointment at the VA moved up in order to go get this unit from Zac. I guess now I know what buyer beware means.
If I sold someone something for $3-$30- or $300 and it wasn't as advertised or defective I'd refund the money or replace it. My reputation is worth more than money.

Youre still getting the chip 1st off and actually in the original post I said it may have the chip in it still that i was not 100% sure nowhere did I say that it was coming with one but youre still getting it. Graph worked the day it was taken off the boat. I can only go off of the last time that I used the unit. There is 2 sides to every story. And not saying he's wrong but a quick Google search showed alot of people that have had the same thing happen where the graph goes into simulation mode. It was as exactly advertised and his response was also that he was not going to mess with it anymore. Could be the transducer if its from an 1199 head unit. The unit was as said had cover no blemishes in the screen in great condition. It also hasn't had power hooked up to it in 3 years since the boat was sold and worked perfectly to the day that it came off of the boat. You never told me either if when you tested it you put your chips in it or not. Theres alot of variables and I hope you don't just give up because it didn't do what you wanted as soon as you hooked it up. A quick Google search can go a long way. You said you wanted it I was as honest as could be about the unit and this isn't bass pro or best buy you knew you were getting a little bit older graph

You are right I purchased an older graph. It doesn't work by me or a tech who sells and installs Humminbird graphs.
I feel so much relief that I'm getting a chip for $300 what a deal.
No it said it came with a chip and you went back and edited the post at 2:00 after I picked the graph up with the off of the top of my head it may have a chip, later the same night you deleted the post all together.
It's OK I know when I have been swindled and you know it too. If you can live with it I can live without it the $300 I'm speaking of.

I did not edit my post to say that. I looked at my post as soon as you left and it read exactly what I typed up above not my fault ypu did not pay attention to the o.p. I edited the post to change the title of it to sold because it was sold. Theres plenty of people that know me on here and I have done multiple deals with and not 1 bad report or and bad transactions or people accusing me of changing my post. And I did not delete it dont you know admins have to delete.
