Headed to the Phoenix are in a few weeks. Anyone fished out there? Taking the wife and no boat. Best bass lake nearby and any guide recommendations.

I’ve fished Saguaro several times with a guide Beautiful lake with good water visibility It should just now be turning on again Shaky head, drop shot, jerkbaits, and swimbaits.

Saguaro and Canyon are the closest and best for bass fishing. Bartlett is another choice but full of small bass. Pleasant is good for stripers. Roosevelt is my favorite lake in AZ but it’s a little drive from Phoenix. Josh Bertrand used to guide on all those lakes but doubt he does now. Try to find John “Scooter” Griffin, (sp), he has guided around there for years. Also, call The Hook Up Tackle as they will be in the know.
Saguaro and Canyon are deep clear lakes that have big bass in them, just highly pressured. Saguaro used to be loaded with hydrilla, not sure if it still is. Take a couple drop shot rigs, frogs and swimbaits. Sag and Canyon are beautiful lakes with huge Canyon walls. The schooling activity can be great on Saguaro in October! Oh, take plenty of top waters!

Scooter Griffith. Pm if you want more info. Check you pm. Thanks CCTX and Minner Bucket! Looks like Sagauro and Canyon are both with an hour or so, so more than likely one of those will do the trick!

Canyon Lake used to be the best trophy bass lake in AZ but it has been decimated by Golden Algea twice in the last three years. Ron Casner (the guy holding up all those big fish) is considered by many/most to be the King of Canyon Lake doesn't guide there anymore.
