I traded in my 2012 Silverado 1/2 ton for a 2006 Ram 2500 TRX4 Off Road with a 5.9 Cummins with 136k miles on it. You’re more than welcome to hate on me for it. The truck was in pretty dang good shape for a 2006, but I figured I should freshen it up if we’re going to be together for a while. Here’s some before and after shots...,

I always like the white gauges. Did you get the Allison transmission?

The 2006 5.9 cummins is bullet proof and is the last model before all the emissions [censored], you got a great truck that will last you at least 400,000 miles. I have one in my back pasture that I use to pull down buildings, bridges, or what ever you need.
Only issue you will have is the air conditioner. They go out. So mark my word, find you a good air conditioning repair man.

Yes, I actually owned a 2006 hemi a while back. I tore the dash apart, replaced all the blend doors, motors, etc. Not fun. This one has a brand new blower motor in it already. Even though I bought it from a dealership, I actually got to talk to the previous owner. His name was still on the Bluetooth pairing history. Got lots of good info from him.

Great truck! You're gonna love it.

I have an 04 and never had an AC issue,as long as you don’t put a crazy Larry bully dog on it,the tranny should last a long time, the motor should outlast the truck,I have a friend with an 06 with 400k plus miles on it and several transmissions in it but he hauls backhoes and had the aforementioned programmer on it.
Look into the EFI live programmer if you want to make it go.

Trying to keep this one as stock as possible. I just want it to last and pull my tractor around. The 1/2 ton didn’t have quite enough stopping power for the weight of my tractor, and definitely lack the power to pull it like the diesel can.
