This is only a curiosity topic but would like an answer. Every single time I see an Evinrude in the for sale section, the comment is “motor is a beast” or “runs perfectly”. I’ve read the specs and the emissions are less than most 4 strokes, hole shot is better, and they seem bullet proof. Why in the world would Bombardier just dump them?!? Why wouldn’t they sell them to the top bidder? They haven’t dumped SeaDoo so they’re not getting out of the watercraft scene. Just can’t figure it out. It’s disappointing because competition helps out the industry. Companies with much shallower pockets haven’t left the market

BRP ceased production due to not enough volume in sales to be profitable. They also didn't sell because they want to keep the technology for future projects.
