Sorry guys, not Texas but does anyone have any info on broken bow about running the lake, best places to launch on south end, are there any obstacles to be aware of as far as stumps etc?!? Never been, I know it’s a deep lake, basically doing some sightseeing, maybe fish a little. Any input would be appreciated.

shouldn't have a problem with stumps, state park is probably best launch.
cruise the islands and see if there are any smallies hangin out.

I always drop shot a green pumpkin worm around the humps between the islands. Always had good luck.

Just got back from 5 days fishing there last week, stayed with the folks who run Sundown cabin rentals. We like to launch at Carson Creek boat ramp, free and at upper end of main lake where the river run starts. We like to run about 30 mins north and then fish all the cove areas and rock banks on main river for bass. There are tons of flooded brush piles for crappie fishing. We like Wacky fishing and size 4/0 screw on swim bait hooks with paddle tail 4 inch swim baits. If you want Walleye, fish closer to the dam area. Our favorite lake, so beautiful. Good luck.

I was there last week... fishing is good! Top waters were my best producers.
Carson Creek was where I launched...it is not free...you have to pay via an app. It is easy and only 10 bucks per day. The app details are on signs right before you get to the ramp. They will tow you if you don't pay..
I went up north and found the fish to be bigger (black bass)... if you are looking for smallies, then the islands are a good place to start...enjoy, it is one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever fished!

Love the lake, most of the hazards are marked via buoys.
