Haven't posted many if any reports in 2020, mostly due to reevaluating CC bay shore/wade fish areas post Harvey. BTW, 2020 was very good for trout & reds along CC bay shore. Look for a summary later this fall.

Had a window to fish for about 3 hours today. Based on surf conditions & tidal action scheduled to happen, GLW & me hit the surf about 10am to 1 pm.

Finger mullet were fairly thick, first throw, half dozen little buggers. Baited up and got the bait out into 2nd gut, the third gut from shore. After setting the rigs and waiting, threw the net again.......... 10-12 fingers. Wish it was always that easy.

First fish were hard heads, sure sign slack tide.

Things picked up as tide start dropping.

Hooked up a very nice speck, 24"'ish, then picked up a seriously huge Skipjack, 28"-30".

Next was an undersized Red, then couple nice Blacktip sharks decide to play. Biggest one was 36"+, & probably 7-8lbs. Second one was bit smaller & probably 5lbs, but both fought hard & GLW had fun fighting them.

Caught a second trout, under sized, then on last bait, last rod out, nice hit & fish on. GLW was sharking expert by now and said another another Blackie. Finally got the fish into wade gut and sure enough a 32"+ Redfish, probably 9-10 lbs.

Great way to end our, well her, fishing.

Final tally on three hours fishing.
2 hardheads
2 specks
1 Skippy
2 Redfish
2 Blacktip shark

Not too bad..................

Got one more day possibly next week to finish up 2020 coastal shore/surf fishing.
