Hello all-

Relatively new to bass fishing and I live in DFW. Home lake is Grapevine/Lewisville. Before I just let myself loose on Grapevine, I'd like to pay someone to take me out (their boat) and show me the lake, how it fishes, hazard areas to avoid (shallow sand bars, heavily stumped areas etc). Really looking for someone who knows Gvine like the back of their hand. I called one guide and spoke to him briefly but he seemed put off by my call honestly. He asked me to call him back the following week, which I did but I didn't get a return call. So.. I am still looking. It doesn't have to be someone who is known as a guide.. just someone who knows the lake well, has a good head on their shoulders and can really show me the lake and how it fishes.

I am interested in small and largemouth bass mainly. Crappie as well, but second to bass. I have my own gear, but would prefer the boat be provided for this trip.

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

James knows the lake well and is really a stick. You will learn more from James by far than going with a typical guide IMHO. Seasonal patterns, breaking down the lake, baits, techniques, etc. It will be one of the most informative 4-5 hours you will ever spend with a guide. I get no commission from James!!

^ Same. I don't even know the fella, but appreciate the knowledge he has shared on here and the delivery. I can also read tourney results and know that he can catch 'em.
