We built a house in 2004, OSB was $24 a sheet back then (here anyways). I believe there was 3 hurricanes that year and it made prices nuts. I’m surprised lumber isn’t higher.

Yeah last I heard the prices had quadrupled. Guess I'll continue to postpone my fence.

I bought 4 -16'x 5/4 treated deck boards last Friday @ $26.00 each. They should run around $.90/ft ea.

A lot of the west coast lumber is on fire. Might keep the prices higher for awhile.

I could buy good 2x12's in any length cheaper than I could get 1x12's last week. Just didn't make sense to me.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

I'm thinking that unless it's a specialty lumber like western red cedar or redwood, 99% of the wood sold in most of Texas is southern yellow pine.

Funny this thread comes up. I've been shocked at the rise in lumber prices.
I actually just left from getting a price to replace 544' of fence, 3 rails, posts and concrete for post over $7,200 eeks break that down about $13 a ft in material
8 months ago I could get it around $6-8 ft.

Looks like I'll put off the deer blinds that I've been thinking about making.

Oh, and they didn't have enough pickets and didn't know when they would be getting enough in. I ran into that on another fence job about a month ago, I check over 20 places in the Houston area and most didn't have any pickets or just a few I had to go to College Station to get them and bring them back.

Not even close to the ceiling yet... have seen builders recently buy lumber for 6-10 houses before the forms are even set for the slab to try and get it all before the next increase. That OSB price will be closer to $35 before it’s all said and done. Availability issues are just showing up, I know of some places that can’t get several lengths of 2X6 right now. Some cedar is getting really tough too
