For as long as I can remember Sealy’s September tournament is always on Fork right when you get fall’s first major front which this year equaled not many large bass. Pull the tournament to first week in September with late summer pattern and let’s see what the weights would be weighed in. Looking at the hourly results of 2 lb dinks is not impressive unless of course you are winning some money with them.

Moving the date back won't change it. The slot dictates a lot of that, and it is a [censored]-shoot on timing whether the Overs will be plentiful... Interesting that a Gambling Phrase is "expletive-deleted"... a "Dice Poker" shoot.

Your mortality rate would also increase if you moved it up a couple of weeks. It's bad enough on these fish as it is.

Move it to another lake....or it it has to be on Fork, move it more into fall so it’s not bad on the fish

They moved it to later in September after 2008 to decrease the odds of a hurricane.

I've owned a fishing lodge here on Fork since 1993. Historically, Sept is one of the worst months of the year on Fork for a reason. It's not a big fish month and can be really tough. I'm glad Sealy comes this time of year because my customers wouldn't normally come to fish this time of year because they know that. So it's a bonus for me.
