Agreed, so I set out to convert the always available regular product into bacon flavored Spam. After numerous fails I finally hit upon one ingredient that consistently gives it that good bacon flavor. Although I’ve never been asked for it, I consider the recipe secret.

I will focus on developing a homemade garlic flavored Spam if the pre-made variety becomes scarce.

Used to eat a lot of spam when I first got married, cubed with potatoes, and fried with onions in the skillet!
My grown kids asked if we ever eat that spam anymore?....They grew up on it and loved it!

During a trip to Ontario in 1987 and packing for a 10 day trip in the bush, I touched four cans just in case we couldn't catch fish. Brought four cans back.

Just had some today. Sizzled off in cast iron with a little bacon grease starter. Put some slices of smoked Gouda on it and covered with 2 eggs OM. Yum!

Love Spam. It's really good smoked then sliced and fried.
