Recently I've been thinking about the possibility of offering an "On the water" electronics class that would cover getting your units set up and dialed in for "offshore" bass fishing and I wanted to hear some of your guys thoughts about it. The class would be probably half a day and it would consist of the initial setup, mapping, image interpretation, and then how to set up to fish. The trip would be on your boat with your electronics and I would like to start out with just specializing with lowrance units. The pricing would be much less than a regular guided trip and the main focus is you learning how to get the most from your units and not necessarily catching a 30lb sack. I have several years experience with using lowrance electronics and offshore fishing and have set up many peoples boats and gave them a crash course in the subject as a favor but I'm looking to see if it would be something people would even be interested in.

I went to KY Lake to take a course and have my Lowrance Units set up to preform. I enjoyed the class and also spent several days fishing KY Lake afterwords. I personally got a lot out of it. I switched to Garmin units so I obviously would not be one of your first customers.

Thanks for the reply TomRom. KY lake is an awesome lake with all of the structure. Ive actually got a trip to KY lake planned this month. The reason I would want to stay away from other brands for now is because not having the operating systems for each completely mastered.

I think it's a great idea. lots of guys doing that. that's what most of us need. We're mostly way too impatient to fool with the units when we get those precious few hours away to fish. We just want them TO WORK ! I'm game. Lake Fork...TX... let's go.
