Texoma is the most consistent place to get on them. I have caught some inside the marina’s along the bank back in behind the boat slips in my kayak. Also seen some of my buddies catch a few out of Holbrook when we went years ago. Heard Ray Roberts has them as well. A lake that has a bunch but no big ones is Moss Lake which is just NW of Gainesville. Broken bow has tons and Mountain Fork river coming out of Broken bow as well.

Caught this fish in the Mountain Fork river just above the re-regulation dam. Still not sure if it was a true river spot or just a largie had some spot patterns but really big for a spot. I had caught several spotted bass though on that same stretch more spots than largemouth for sure. I may never know but I want to think it was a spotted bass.

I have caught spots in most lakes I fish. Palestine, Tyler, Pines, Caddo, Sandlin, Cypress Springs, the list goes on. They all have plenty of spots but they are small. A two pounder is fairly rare on all those lakes.

If you make the trip to Table Rock, you should stop at Beaver Lake on the way. Loaded with em.
Not wthin six hours but if you ever get to Alabama, be sure and get on the Coosa River chain of lakes. BIG spots. Logan Martin, Neely Henry, etc.
I think Coosa River spots were used to stock California lakes where records are currently being caught. Yeah those Cali spots are insane man. Definitely a bucket list trip for me.

Any in pk? Think I might have caught one if so Pk is full of spots I fish pk all the time, I know they’re in there but I have never ran across one PK spots got wiped out with the smallmouth in the late 90s and early 2000 golden algae kills. They never came back. The state did finally stock some small mouths back this year.

There no a lake the produces large spots in Texas. Max is 4lb'er but that Lake Record material. Bridgeport has a ton but no big giants like CA, TN, AL, NC. Not sure if its the weather or just TPW is only concentrated on Large Mouth World record. Good luck

Just spent 3 days on Alan Henry. I caught one black , and she was a good un, the rest were all spots. My largest spot was 3.5. My black was a long skinny 8.
Catch em, kiss em, let em go
