Headed out this Monday morning to fish Fayette wind was strong managed 2 solid fish on a carolina rig. On thing i noticed is they are putting up entrance and exit gates in both parks, not sure if this could lead to were open from a certain time and close at dusk. I'm only assuming' their was nobody in the guard shack to talk to. I hope this doesn't turn into " CALL BEFORE YOU HAUL" type of situation

Its hard to tell. I was going to stop and talk to the people at the entrance hut about the gate as well but did not. I do know they are going to have people on site 24/7 and rates are going to go up.

One of our local lakes used to be 24/7 but they put in gates and now close at 8 p.m. and open at 6 a.m.
If you are in the park after 8 you can get out but you can't get back in after 8 and have to wait until 6 a.m. and pay for another day if you stay the night.
They also went up on the rates, so it sounds like they are headed that direction!

At least seniors get a discount now from $5 to $2. It would be a bummer if they close gates. Just hope it doesn't become like Gibbons Creek.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I would imagine that the power plant will be shut down. Word on the internet is that it will close by 2022. Look at the record in that area. Bastrop - does it ever run? Lake Decker - does it ever run? Gibbons Creek - closed. Yes, closed. Coleto Creek - sold, will probably close soon.

Any tips on fishing Fayette Lake???? Just bought a boat and want to catch some bass. I haven't been in a couple of weeks, but I would be throwing my favorite Texas rig at the dam if I went today.

Bastrop still runs, just not all the time.
Highest water temp we have seen this year was 98. Have seen it up to 102 in years past.
