I would use whatever they specify in the instructions and KEEP YOUR RECEIPT(S) while the unit is under warranty, just in case.

I would not go cheap on this, you fill it once and rarely even have to top off after that. I would use the Seastar oil made for it....

Use Aviation grade hydraulic oil. This has the same specs as Sea Star oil.

Sea star uses. Wait for it.
Mystik 30W non-detergent hydraulic oil. Same stuff you buy at NAPA. If you think it’s some special voodoo oil you’re easily influenced.
