Never been. I see some trees close to the 852 bridge. I can't really make anything out on the east and far west sides.

Can someone with some experience on this lake tell me about running this lake? Is it dangerous?

Stay within about 30yds of the road when leaving ramp.
Do NOT run if you go to the south side under the bridge.
When you get to bridge and turn northeast, you can run directly to the point that is on the North bank but be careful there are a few trees around that point. Once you clear that point the lake opens up a little but still be weary if you go towards the south bank.
Best bet on that one is find someone to follow until you've ran it a few times.

Is it shallow on the "south side" of the 852 bridge? Is there a website that keeps track of the water level?

The lake runs NE to SW not truly north/south. If you go under the 852 bridge, the bridge goes over the creek channel. There is still a creek (although it winds a bit) on the SW side of the bridge but out of the channel it gets shallow pretty fast. The creek runs very close to the long point on this side of the lake.

Out of the boat ramp there are really two "boat lanes" cut through the trees as well as following the 852 road to the bridge. These "boat lanes" are hard to see at normal pool. There is one "boat lane" going SW to NE from the bridge to the dam but there are a few stumps very close to the lane itself. Most boats shut down at the point with stumps close to the lane. Be careful!

There are no sites I know of that show the water level on this lake. My guess is that it is at or near full pool with the rain we have had.

The lake is so small, I never feel the need to run it.

In my experience you've got one "semi safe" lane from the bridge to the power lines. It pretty well opens up there at the deep end. I'll link you a sonar map that us locals have been building up in the next post.

Mine neither. I download these from the website, unzip them to a card, and load them to my Lowrance. Good to go.
