found a few in vogeys creek and had a pretty good morning for my standards. Used the spinshot dropshot rig with gulp to locate them and switched to salad shrimp once I would find a group. Had to bait the hook every cast with the shrimp though. That got a little old. Finally got to try out the new st Croix panfish rod and its legit. Can feel the slightest bite.
3 of my usual spots had cast netters on them need to take a day and fish during the week i guess. Found a few spots away from the bank where I was able to sit with spot lock and catch a few more. Only caught around 40 between 8 and noon. Thats more than I've managed the last few trips so thanks for the tips and reports everyone.
Yeah that St. Croix rod sure is nice. I like mine and the Daiwa Kage rods I have as well. Hopefully at the first of the year the new management company will put steep increase in the entrance fee which will deter the gill netters from coming in mass. The manager told me they are investing about $3 million in upgrades. An increase is going to happen.
