Much tougher day today. They’re letting water out which was surprising as the lake level was only a few inches over normal pool. Last week they were swallowing the baits, but today almost every fish was barely hooked on the edge of the mouth. Pink and chartreuse jigs fished at 14-18’- almost 7’ shallower than last week. We did have a few that were deeper. 25 keepers fishing 9:30-1:30. Big fish was 13 1/2”.
I think the spillway being open had my areas in a funk.
It was better further up north, even though it was a little muddy
Thanks for sharing, good info. I need to spend some time further up the creeks. Everything I’ve focused on has been channel swings next to flats at the mouths of creeks up to the first 1/3. This is my first year of crappie fishing so I’ve got lots to learn.
Nice haul. I managed to put 16 on ice with 6 or 8 short ones going back. Four were pretty decent ranging between 1.7 and 1.8. Minnows and white/chartreuse jigs were both working. Stayed up north near IDB 22-28 fow.
“Livescope: (noun.) 1. A tool used by fish to frustrate the ever livin’ daylights out of fishermen.”
Nice haul. We had a tough morning but they turned loose about 1 mostly a minnow bite but they were knocking the fire out of them. All good fish but am still looking for our first limit.
